SA101B Rodent Treadmill is widely used in the research of physical fitness, endurance, motor injury, motor nutraceuticals, motor physiology, pharmacology, metabolic and cardiovascular research etc. It consists of the main unit, incorporating the drive, the shocker, the control unit with 7 Inch touch screen, the running belt enclosed within a chamber constructed of acrylic and aluminum. The chamber contains a shock grid, which serves as an aversive stimulus to motivate exercise. Two sizes are available in our company, smaller size for mice and a larger size for rats.

Q. Is the treadmill limited to applicable for 5 mice and 5 rats?
A. By default, the treadmill is 5 lanes for mice or rats. And we offer customization lanes according to researchers’ demand.
Q. If we would like to do for both Rats and Mice, do we need to purchase 2 individual treadmill?
A. The treadmill can be used for both mice and rats, you don’t need to purchase 2 individual unit, you would only need to have two sets of covers and shock grids, one for mice and the other for rats. This design help you save a lot of cost.
Q. Is the treadmill controlled by a touch screen that comes with the device? Or via a software on a PC?
A. The treadmill is controlled via a touch screen that comes with the device, and it can be also controlled via the software on a PC.
Q. Can we program a specific session of treadmill in advance?
A. Yes, 8 protocol setting is included in our software and the sectional acceleration can be set. the last program is saved as the default screen display.
Q: Do we need to set these 2 exhaustion modes together or either one will do? If these 2 modes ON together, for example, Warn is 3 and Shock is 30 sec, when the shock time reached to 30 sec, will the experiment will stop on this time before the warn reach to 3 times?
A: You do not need to set the 2-exhaustion mode in the same time. Usually, researchers not do this. And if you turn on these 2 modes in the same time, for example, warn: 3 and Shock is 30 sec, when the shock time reached to 30 sec while the Warn not reach to 3 times, the experiment will stop on this time before the warn reach to 3 times.)
Q: When the electric simulation stops, would there any electric on at this time for all the channels? And, when the electric shock will back after stop?
A: For the electric stimulation stop, it depends on 2 conditions:
1. Exhaustion mode: When the channel reaches to exhaustion mode, it stops electric stimulation.
2. General mode: When the channel reaches to the set experiment duration, it stops electric stimulation. And the electric shock will not recover until you start another new trial.
